The Itinerary

Day 1 - 3: Cape Town (3 Nights)​

Few destinations in the world offer the diversity, beauty, and sophistication of Cape Town. Surrounded by mountains, vineyards, pristine beaches, and dramatic coastlines, the city effortlessly combines outdoor adventure, world-class cuisine, and exceptional accommodation options to suit every style and budget.

We can build many pre-planned activities into your programme depending on your desired pace of travel and interests. From privately guided hikes in Table Mountain National Park with a pic-nic set up to experiencing Chapmans Peak drive on a Side car motorcycle. You are also welcome to explore all our must sees on your own, such as Table Mountain, The Cape of Good Hope, Boulders Beach. A private guide can also be arranged to drive you around; their expert knowledge offers a greater insight into all the attractions and will give you a passenger princess or prince experience you wont soon forget.

A minimum 3 Nights is suggested for guests that like to stay busy during their travels.

Day 4 takes you to the beautiful coastline of Hermanus located 1 hour and 40 minutes’ drive from Cape Town. Nestled between the rugged mountains of the Overberg and the sparkling waters of Walker Bay, Hermanus is one of South Africa’s most celebrated coastal destinations. Renowned worldwide for its exceptional land-based whale watching, pristine beaches, and spectacular natural beauty, this charming seaside town offers the perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and luxury. One of Hermanus’ greatest treasures is Grotto Beach, a stunning Blue Flag beach, it provides the perfect setting for long beach walks, swimming, sunbathing, and unforgettable sunsets.

From June to November, Hermanus transforms into one of the world’s best whale-watching destinations as Southern Right Whales migrate to the sheltered waters of Walker Bay to mate and calve. Beyond its spectacular scenery, Hermanus offers a wealth of activities for adventure seekers and nature lovers alike. Whale-watching boat cruises provide close encounters with marine wildlife, while thrilling shark cage diving excursions in nearby Gansbaai offer the chance to come face-to-face with some of the ocean’s most fascinating predators. Other experiences can include guided Ocean Safaris, various hiking options such as the famous Cliff Path Coastal Walk or hiking in the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Our wine lovers can also enjoy spectacular offerings in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley. A minimum of 2 nights is recommended.

Day 6 brings us to another highlight in an unforgettable programme. Guests will travel between 2 – 2.5 hours from Hermanus depending on their chosen lodge, one being the luxurious Sanbona Wildlife reserve offering guests an array of accommodation options in a 62,000-hectare big 5 reserve. The time here will offer you the chance to immerse yourself in nature, take in awe-inspiring valley views, see untouched wildlife while fully relaxing while every meal and ever beverage is prepared to excellence for your indulgence. Expert game trackers and drivers make the most of your two daily scheduled game drives offering remarkable insight into the wildlife spotted throughout your stay. Sanbona also boasts with a dedicated child-friendly lodge, offering special activities designed to entertain our younger travellers while being educational as well. Their 2 other accommodation offerings are strictly adults only. Other lodger offerings can include Inverdoorn Private Nature Reserve or the Melozhori Game Reserve.

Estimated 2 hours 30 minutes’ drive Nestled in a picturesque valley surrounded by towering mountains and rolling vineyards, Franschhoek is one of South Africa’s most celebrated destinations. Renowned for its rich French Huguenot heritage, award-winning wines, exceptional cuisine, and breathtaking scenery, this charming village offers a sophisticated escape in the heart of the Cape Winelands. Franschhoek caters to every type of traveller, with accommodation options ranging from luxurious wine estate retreats and world-class boutique hotels to charming guest houses, self-catering cottages.

The valley is home to some of South Africa’s most prestigious wine estates, making wine tasting one of the region’s most popular experiences. Guests can spend leisurely days sampling award-winning wines, explore historic cellars, and enjoy vineyard tours while taking in spectacular views of the surrounding mountains. The famous wine tram provides a unique and relaxing way to discover multiple estates throughout the valley, allowing visitors to experience the diverse wine offerings that have made Franschhoek internationally renowned. For those wishing to explore beyond the vineyards, the valley offers a variety of activities including cycling through the countryside, hiking scenic mountain trails, art gallery visits, olive and chocolate tastings, and exploring the boutique shops and galleries that line the village’s charming streets. Beyond the tasting rooms, many wine farms offer immersive experiences including guided cellar tours, vineyard walks, blending sessions, and behind-the-scenes insights into the art of winemaking. Franschhoek & Stellenbosch are equally celebrated as South Africa’s culinary capital. Guests will depart from Cape Town International Airport after returning their hire car, that’s if you don’t decide to stay a little longer.
