The Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival & Saragossa Reserve (1 Nights)

After arriving at OR Tambo International Airport guests will commence their journey with 2 hours 50 mins drive to the Saragossa Reserve.

The Saragossa Game Reserve offers an authentic African safari experience in the heart of South Africa’s Lowveld. Set across expansive wilderness, the reserve provides excellent opportunities for Big Five game viewing, with regular sightings of elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo and rhino. Guests can enjoy guided game drives, peaceful bushveld surroundings and comfortable safari accommodation, making Saragossa an ideal stop for travellers looking to combine wildlife, relaxation and an intimate connection with the African bush

Following a comfortable night’s rest and recharge guests will continue their adventure with 2 hours’ drive to the little town of Hazyview. Situated perfectly your pre-booked accommodation will act as the perfect homebase where from guests can fully explore the Panorama Route and some activities within the area.

Exploring the breathtaking Panorama route can be done either via privately guided tour or self-drive. Guided tour guests will be transferred from and to their chosen accommodation. The Panorama Route is a journey offering dramatic mountain scenery, where sweeping viewpoints, waterfalls and rugged landscapes create unforgettable moments around every corner. Must-see highlights include the awe-inspiring Blyde River Canyon, the striking rock formations of the Three Rondavels, and the panoramic views from God’s Window. Other essential stops include Bourke’s Luck Potholes, where centuries of swirling water have sculpted fascinating rock formations, and the beautiful Lisbon and Berlin Falls. This experience does require a full day.

• Helicopter Rides – Scenic helicopter tours showcasing South Africa’s breathtaking landscapes and wildlife from above

• Quad Biking – Quad Bike in Hazyview through the farmlands and bush on a guided trail.

• Golfing – Perfect your swing on manicured greens with wildlife and mountains as backdrops

• Geckoing/Tubing – Drift lazily down crystal-clear waters surrounded by untamed wilderness.

• Graskop Gorge Zipline – Soar like an eagle above the canyon with the wind rushing past.

Concluding an adventure packed stay in Hazyview guests can look forward to pure relaxation in their pre-booked lodge situated in either the Timbavati Private Reserve or Klaserie Private Reserve. With these two reserves bordering each other, both offer various lodge stay options while still offering world renowned game viewing opportunities.

Timbavati Reserve - Timbavati itself is 556 square kilometres (215 square miles) and is located west of the immense 20 000 square kilometre (7 700 square miles) Kruger National Park. With no fences between Timbavati and Kruger, they are part of an unfenced wilderness that extends over 38 823 square kilometres, an area roughly the size of the Netherlands.

Klaserie Reserve - Offers an authentic African safari experience with exceptional Big Five viewing in a pristine wilderness setting. Hoedspruit Eastgate Airport is located approximately 1hours drive from the Timbavati Private Reserve or 45 mins if departing from Klaserie Private Reserve. Arriving at Hoedspruit guests will board their scheduled flight to OR Tambo International Airport located in Johannesburg whereafter they will board their connecting flight back home.

For our guests wanting to stay a little longer Hoedspruit offers direct flights to Cape Town, adding an additional stay in our beautiful Mother City is the perfect add on to an already memorable programme. A minimum of 3 additional nights is recommended.
